The greenways

The Vías Verdes program emerged in the early 1990s, following the initiative of the Ministry of the Environment, in collaboration with RENFE and FEVE, autonomous communities, as well as cycling groups, ecologists and citizen groups.
The Greenway of the Northwest was launched more than a decade ago and since then it has been managed and conditioned by the Tourism Consortium made up of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the town councils of the route.
