Seven students from the 'Leandro Martínez Romero' Conservatory in Caravaca de la Cruz were awarded the twentieth competition 'Entre cuerdas y metales', held in the city of Cartagena.
The Councilor for Education and Youth, Esther Poveda, and the director of the conservatory, Raul Bartomeu, wanted to congratulate the young people and their respective teachers for the excellent results obtained in the contest of the highest level and prestige of all those celebrated in the Region.
The winners were Erik Stevens Rueda Briceño (second prize in guitar mode), Mª Dolores Valverde Muñoz (first prize in Woodwind modality), Catalina Serrano Espín (Special mention of Wind and Wood), Francisca Sánchez Gea (second prize of Trumpet ), Ángel Rodríguez García (first prize percussion) and the brothers Miguel and Matías Llorente Gil were (first and second prize of percussion, respectively).
In the competition 'Between strings and metals', organized by the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, nearly two hundred young people participated in the different conservatories of the Region of Murcia, interpreters in the modalities wind, wind, metal, rope , Piano, singing, guitar, percussion, flamenco singing, flamenco guitar and chamber music.
