The election day of last Sunday, May 21, was spent in an atmosphere of camaraderie and cordiality among the socialist militants of the socialist group from Carava.
In these primary elections came to the appointment with the ballot box a total of 92 affiliates - 86.79% of participation of the 106 that compose the local census -, to choose between the three candidates to secretary general of the PSOE.
Pedro Sánchez obtained 53 votes (57.60%);
Patxi López, got 28 votes (30.43%) - second best national result behind the Basque Country - and Susana Díaz had 10 votes (10.86%);
There was only one blank vote.
The socialist militancy Caravaqueña showed its support to the candidate Pedro Sánchez, granting him the absolute majority, in a day that passed with total normality and with a great influx of militants and sympathizers that went to the House of the Town, located in the street Asturias, to know First hand the definitive results.
The Secretary General of the PSOE and Mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Jose Moreno, congratulated the militants for the great participation and Pedro Sánchez for his comfortable victory.
Moreno said that "We are starting a new stage in which we must unite around a common project of the left."
