This meeting has occurred after the afternoon yesterday, the mayor and the councilors of Agriculture and Emergencies will check 'in situ' the devastating effects of the storm.
According to the first data, as a result of the storm, more than 6 thousand hectares of crops and 20,000 tonnes of produce have been affected in Caravaca de la Cruz and in other areas of the municipalities of Lorca, Cehegín and Bullas.
The hail has not only affected the fruit, but in many cases has damaged the tree itself, compromising not only the current harvest but the next year.
Damage to agriculture has mainly occurred in cereals, almonds, fruit trees, such as apricot or peach, and in lettuce and broccoli plantations, as well as in several nurseries.
"The size of the hail has caused damage not only to plantations of fruit trees and vegetables, but also have affected several farms and houses", as informed the mayor, Jose Moreno, who has requested the collaboration of the Autonomous Community and Insurers to accelerate the expertise and attend to the most rapid and effective possible to all affected, most of them, located in the districts of Barranda, Singla, Archivel, La Alumudema, Benablón and La Encarnación.
From Monday morning, Monday, operators of the Caravaca City Council work on the cleaning of rural roads, which were hampered by mud and stones.

The distribution of healing fungicides will be carried out at the facilities of the Frutas Caravaca Cooperative among the owners of agricultural holdings, whether or not they are members of the said cooperative.
To ensure the proper effect, the products should be applied as quickly as possible, preferably within 48 hours.
