A total of 1,544 students have participated in the program for the promotion of basic sport 'Municipal Sports Schools', which organizes and gives the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Sports.
The 'Municipal Sports Schools' dismissed the course 2016/17, with a closing ceremony held in the Plaza de Toros, where trophies were awarded to regularity, which recognize the interest, effort and involvement of the student body.
Councilor for Sports, Antonio Donate, also presented the prizes to the 'Fair Play', which fell to Juan Martinez Teruel and Álvaro Fernández Giménez, students of the 'Municipal School of Basketball'.
These recognitions are the result of the 'Smile Card' initiative, which rewards good behavior and companionship and has been implemented pilot in groups of the modalities of Football, Futsal and Basketball, which rewards good behavior and fellowship .
The objective is to promote the moral development of young athletes, also enhancing the playfulness of the competition.
The Department of Sports has given this course a total of 18 sports modalities, covering the various categories of basic sport.
This year, the novelty has been the School of Skating, which has had 40 students.
In addition, schools of Chess (20 students), Activities in Nature (55), Paradeportiva (12), Triathlon (139), Volleyball (88), Athletics (85), Generic (26), Rhythmic Gymnastics 140), Modern Dance (89), Futsal (172), Football (297), Basketball (260), Tennis (73) and Riding (25).
