The Department of Youth of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz closed the program against smoking and health education 'Healthy Travel'.
This course has involved a total of 61 high school students, of whom 47 have successfully reached the final phase.
The youth have attended different workshops, talks and group dynamics on prevention of drug use and healthy habits of life.
They also participated in tests that proved that they fulfilled the commitment not to smoke, as informed the Councilor for Youth and Education, Esther Poveda, during the closing ceremony, held at the Youth Center.
Poveda encouraged the youth to follow the health habits acquired during the program and thanked the participation and involvement of all participants.
The initiative 'Healthy journey' is coordinated by the doctor of the Northwest Regional Hospital Sandro Guachi, along with the technicians of the Department of Youth.
The name of the program responds to the way of rewarding young people, since those who reach the final stage, attending all proposed activities and abandoning tobacco or not starting in consumption for 8 months, participate in a coexistence in a youth hostel Of the Region of Murcia.
Continuing with the dynamics of previous editions, the closing ceremony also proceeded to draw among all the finalists to participate in an international youth meeting, to be held in a European city.
More than 600 students of 4th year of ESO have adhered in the last eleven years to the program 'Healthy journey'.
