Caravaca de la Cruz, on the occasion of its Jubilee Year 2017, will host tomorrow, Saturday, June 17, the kitchen contest 'Huerta Chef', with which finalizes the Program of Consumption of Fruit and Vegetables in the schools of the Region of Murcia .
The activity, promoted by Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of the Region (Fecoam), has among its objectives to promote healthy habits and maintain a balanced diet in which fruit and vegetable consumption is a priority.
Students enrolled throughout the Region can become small cooks and prepare their main courses, desserts and snacks with a simple elaboration.
The day, which will take place on Gran Vía, will begin at 10:00 am, with the arrival and registration of the participants, who can enjoy outdoor programmed activities such as photocall and livestock farms.
The event will be attended by the journalist Azucena Marín, presenter of the program 'Tardeo' Television Murciana, who will be in charge of conducting the event throughout the morning.
In this edition, the members of the jury include María Querol, contestant of one of the editions of the contest 'Máster Chef Junior', as well as chefs from the Region of Murcia, such as Juan Luis Buitrago, cookery trainer at the Qualification Center Tourism (CCT).
Once the competition begins, the students will have their ingredients and kitchen utensils ready for the preparation and preparation of their recipe for what they will have 20 minutes.
And of course, the main ingredients have to be any variety of fruit and / or vegetables.
To ensure their safety, children will not be able to use any type of appliance or sources of heat or cold.
Assembly of the plate should not require sharp utensils.
After twenty minutes, the jury, after watching the work of each child through the different tables, will retire to evaluate the recipes based on creativity, presentation and tasting.
Then its members will make public the winners of this edition, giving them their prizes.
From Fecoam, its president, Santiago Martínez, has emphasized the importance of this program promoted by the agricultural cooperatives of the region, which makes it possible for hundreds of children to approach the healthy diet through fruit and vegetables.
And it has insisted on the benefits it reports to the little ones.
