Students from 5th grade Primary School of Cervantes in Caravaca de la Cruz have closed a new edition of the educational project 'Emprender en mi escuela', which fosters the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age.
The students have created and managed their own cooperative throughout the course, along with 75 other centers in the Region of Murcia.
The mayor of the city, José Moreno, visited the stand installed in the weekly market, where the handicrafts produced by the students were sold, whose profit will go to non-profit organizations working with projects to help childhood.
In particular, the NGOs selected for this course are 'Solmun', for Burkina Faso and CĂ´te d'Ivoire, 'Solidarity and Hope', for Haiti, and 'Unity and Fraternity, for Syrian refugee camps.
'Emprender en mi Escuela' is an educational project aimed at Primary Education students, with the development of different skills such as entrepreneurship, critical thinking or teamwork, through active and cooperative work.
Recently, Cervantes students participating in this project were part of the 'Mini Market' held in Murcia, where the products of more than 2,000 schoolchildren were exhibited and sold.
