The philosophy of the Popular Party has always been very clear: fiscal policy should aim to improve tax collection, but not through an increase in the tax burden but rather through an increase in economic activity.
In short: lower taxes for companies to invest and create jobs, and citizens consume.
We are therefore betting on a more effective tax collection, without raising taxes, reducing or eliminating those that are possible, and being more efficient in the collection of those that already exist.
Hence the commitment to abolish the Inheritance and Donations Tax, announced at the time by the regional president of the PP, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and assumed in his inaugural speech by the new president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras.
A tax that, it should be remembered, the regional government of the Popular Party already eliminated in 2015 for the transfer of companies when there is generational change, which placed the bonus for taxpayers at 50%.
In addition, this year's budgets have raised the discount to 60%, as well as applying a 99% exemption for large special families with more than five children.
And we consider that Inheritance and Donations is a particularly unfair tax, which forces a large number of families to pay when they receive an inheritance that they can not sell, as has happened in recent years with real estate.
Problem with which also heirs who do not have money to settle the tax, and that in such cases are even forced to ask for a credit to be able to pay it.
For example, and according to the calculations that the Ministry of Finance handles, a family that receives goods for 350,000 euros, for which now would have to pay 13,453 euros, with the reduction in 2018 should only enter 336, to share among all the heirs.
The Region of Murcia is the autonomy of all Spain that is lowering taxes, unlike its neighbors, which is rising.
Even so, the announcement of this initiative has put pressure on some of our bordering communities, who are forced to consider eliminating this tax as well.
Be that as it may, starting in 2018 no Murcia will have to give up the fruit of the work of a lifetime.
With the introduction of an attractive tax framework we will make possible the creation of new companies, and attract investments from inside and outside the Region.
We believe in the formula "less taxes equal to more employment and more resources": more resources to increase family income, to increase the spending capacity of people and also of companies.
Because it is proven that money, where it is best, is in the pocket of citizens.
