The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, and the Mayor of La Unión, Pedro López, have signed an agreement for the realization of joint actions framed in the celebration of the Jubilee Year 2017 and the International Festival of Cante de Las Minas.
The object of agreement, as detailed by the mayor of Carava, is to establish a mutual collaboration between municipalities in order to improve the promotion of both events and enrich their respective cultural programs.
For his part, the mayor of La Union has said that this initiative "is an example of synergy between two major cultural events, which should be taken as an example in the Region of Murcia."
The agreement includes the celebration of a Gala Flamenca on July 7, at 10:00 pm, on the esplanade of the Castle of Caravaca de la Cruz, which will feature the performance of the singer Belén López, awarded the 'Desplante 2016' , In the last edition of the Festival Cante de Las Minas.
Saúl Quirós and Pedro Jiménez (cante), Juan Jiménez and Carlos Jiménez (guitar), Rafael Jiménez 'El Chispa' (percussion) and Fernando Rico (violin) will also participate in this festival.
Another of the actions foreseen in the collaboration agreement is the installation of a promotional stand for the Jubilee Year 2017, from 2 to 12 August, coinciding with the celebration of the festival, on La Flamenco Avenue in La Unión.
Likewise, it is contemplated the celebration of a 'Misa Minera', in the Real Basilica of the True Cross, at a date to be determined.
