The park and the raft of Los Royos have since last Saturday the name of Antonio García Marín, 'El Bullas'.
At the initiative of its own neighbors, led by its pedantic, Juana Pérez, the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has carried out this recognition, based on its Regulation of Honors and Distinctions.
The act of discovery of the plaque was presided over by the mayor, Jose Moreno, accompanied by the councilmen Enrique Fuentes and Maria Jose Soria, as well as by relatives, neighbors and friends of the honoree.
Antonio García Marín died 17 years ago, leaving an indelible mark on the inhabitants of Los Royos, which led them to take this popular petition.
"He was a very respected and appreciated person for all the people, a tireless worker, who always tried to keep alive the traditions, collaborating altruistically throughout his life in the organization of the holidays and in the care and cleaning of this place, among other things" , said the pedestrian mayoress.
For his part, the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz said that it is a well-deserved tribute, since he is a person who is very alive in the memory of the neighbors of the hamlet, because he cared for the traditions of Los Royos, which is which gives meaning and identity to a people ".
