Representatives of the municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín and Bullas held a meeting with members of the animal protection association 'Econciencia', which put on the table the main objectives and demands of this group composed of numerous volunteers from the Comarca del Noroeste.
On behalf of the Consistorio Caravaqueño, the councilor responsible for the area of ​​Health, Mª José Soria, participated in the meeting, which was in favor of the proposals proposed by the Association, among which the creation of a public county shelter for abandoned animals, awareness and awareness program on welfare and animal protection aimed at the population as a whole.
"We have set another meeting for October 17 in order to advance in the approaches and that each city council determines its position and participation with respect to the different projects discussed," said Soria.
The association 'Econciencia' demanded commitment and unity on the part of the administrations to obtain the construction, management and permanent maintenance of an animal shelter.
In addition, it also requested support for other proposals, such as the design and implementation of campaigns aimed at responsible pet ownership, which encourage, among other things, the implementation of the electronic chip or sterilization.
