A total of 800 riders, including leading figures in mountain sport at national and international levels, will meet in Caravaca de la Cruz from September 29 to October 1 to participate in the third edition of 'La Vara Trail Run'.
The Councilor for Tourism in the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, Gloria Gomez, who participated today in the presentation of this competition, said that the event is an impetus for sports tourism, as it manages to attract to Caravaca runners and walkers , along with numerous companions, of the majority of Spanish provinces and of some foreign countries.
Gloria Gómez thanked for the work of the organizing committee, which strives to add new attractions every year 'La Vara Trail Run', locating it as a benchmark at the national level within the mountain sport calendar.
In the presentation of the test, the president and secretary of the Club 'La Vara Trail', David Vélez and Ángel López, respectively, have also been accompanied by the vice president of the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Reyes.
'La Vara Trail Run' consists of a set of sporting events that are developed in the Sierra del Gavilán and the Vulture, emblems of the Region of Murcia, reaching an altitude of 1,477 meters and 1,427 meters.
The kick-off of the third edition will take place on September 30 with 'La Vara Cross Kids', a set of activities for the enjoyment of children.
This same day, and within the novelties of this year, will take place 'La Vara Vertical Trail', an explosive test and of great hardness, which, with only 6.5 kilometers away and a positive slope of 900 meters altitude , will put the most experienced athletes to the limit.
On October 1, the four remaining events will be held, including the 'Vara Trail Sky Marathon', Queen's Test, with a distance of 43 kilometers and a positive slope of 3,000 meters of pure mountain.
This form of participation is official proof of the Regional League of the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia, the International Skyrunning Association (ISF) and the International Tril Running Association (ITRA).
In addition, during this day will also be held 'La Vara Trail Half Marathon', 'La Vara Trekking' and 'La Vara Promo', the latter aimed at runners and walkers who start in the world of mountain racing.
The goal area will be located on the Paseo del Camino del Huerto, with activities of animation and Feria del Corredor.
