The First Gala of the Music Awards of the Region of Murcia is celebrated on December 12, at 20.30, in the classroom of the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation of Murcia
The Party of the Cuadrillas de Barranda has been nominated for the Music Awards of the Region of Murcia, within the category 'Best work dissemination of Traditional Music'.
The party, declared of National Tourist Interest, shares nomination with professor and ethnomusicologist Manuel Luna and the group 'Mujeres de Raíz', for the album 'Las edad de la vida'.
The Region of Murcia will present this year for the first time these Music Awards, during a gala that will take place on December 12, at 20.30, in the Classroom of Culture of the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, organized by the Cultural Association There is a Tiger Behind You ', in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, the City of Murcia and the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation.
The gala will be enlivened by the performances of Abdón Alcaraz, 'Jamones con tacones', 'Ross', Moy Gomar and Egio Jazz Trio.
Although it will be necessary to wait for the day of the gala to meet the winners of the different categories, the first three recognitions have already been announced: Sole Giménez, (Legend Award in recognition of a whole career and life dedicated to music), the Festival Big Up!
(Prize to the Cultural Project for his baggage and contribution to the Murcian scene) and Ángel H. Sopena, music critic of the newspaper La Opinión, for his work in the media.
The jury in charge of selecting both the nominations and the winners is formed by ten specialized journalists, who have chosen, by secret and individual vote, the aspirants of the different categories: Best Pop Album, Best Rock Album, Best Flamenco Album , Best Album Other Trends, Best Music Festival, Labor Media, Cultural Project related to Music, Labor in the Diffusion of Traditional Music, Best New Artist and Best Video, which will complete the list of winners once they join those already mentioned and granted by direct assignment.
The cultural association 'Hay un Tigre De Ti' decided to create these awards "to promote and recognize the efforts of music professionals in their different categories, since the music scene in the Region of Murcia has undergone a great change in the recent years, it is increasingly extensive and varied and has groups and singers. "
The Fiesta de las Cuadrillas is a pioneer in its genre and has become a classic among the popular festivals in the area, being able to bring together several thousand people who come with the incentive to enjoy a day with music popular, turning the streets of Barranda into a huge popular scene where you play, dance and enjoy food and wine.
