The Fiesta de las Cuadrillas has been awarded in the I Music Awards of the Region of Murcia, within the category `Best work of diffusion of Traditional Music '.
The president of the Aguilarderos de Barranda, Carlos Salcedo, accompanied by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, collected this recognition at a gala held at the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation in Murcia, which brought together more than 800 people linked to the scene musical Murcia.
The Fiesta de las Cuadrillas, declared of National Tourist Interest, celebrates its fortieth anniversary next January.
It is a pioneer event of its kind and has become a classic among the popular festivals of the area, being able to bring together several thousand people, who enjoy all day long with music and popular folklore, turning the streets of the caravaqueña district of Barranda in a huge stage where you play, dance and taste traditional cuisine.
Along with the Fiesta de las Cuadrillas, the jury, made up of a dozen and specialized critics of the region, also awarded the indie group 'Viva Suecia' ('Best Pop Album'), Noise Box (Best Rock Album), Carlos Piñana ( Best Flamenco Album of the Year), Hams with Heels (Best Album Other Trends), Poolshake (Best Group or Debutante Artist), Alien Tango (Best Music Clip) and the Sea of ​​Music was proclaimed as the Best Festival.
Likewise, honorary awards announced to the Yeclana Sole Giménez were awarded, in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to music;
to the Big Up! festival, for its baggage and contribution to the Murcian scene, and to Ángel H. Sopena, music critic of La Opinión, for his work in the media.
The cultural association 'Hay un Tigre De Ti' decided to create these awards "to promote and recognize the efforts of music professionals in their different categories, since the music scene in the Region of Murcia has undergone a great change in the recent years, it is increasingly extensive and varied and has groups and singers. "
