The Municipal Bethlehem of Caravaca de la Cruz remains exposed in the church of San José of the old convent of the Carmelite Mothers, in the main street, until next January 7.
The Department of Celebrations of the Caravaqueño Consistory proceeded to its inauguration and the lighting of ornamental lighting, starting the special program of Christmas activities.
The Bethlehem can be visited from Monday to Sunday, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, being closed to the public during the days of December 24, 25, 31, January 1 and January 5 in the afternoon.
The Bethlehem of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, awarded on several occasions in the Belenes Contest Region of Murcia, presents a new provision to facilitate the viewing of all scenes, occupying much of the church floor.
It is made up of more than 200 polychrome figures and of Hebrew style, made by the renowned Murcian artisan Jesús Griñán.
The composition is enriched with effects and numerous constructions by Isabel Tornero, which allows the narration of the main scenes of the Nativity.
Christmas children's programming
Within the special Christmas program, during the next few days there will be different activities, many of them aimed at children.
Among them, it is worth highlighting the children's show 'Christmas Express', organized with the collaboration of the Festero Templario group, to be held on Saturday, December 23, at 17.30, at the Thuillier Theater.
On Wednesday, December 27, at 12.00, a play inspired by the classic tale of 'Little Red Riding Hood' will be performed at the Thuillier, and on Thursday, September 28, at the same time and in the same place , 'The Little Prince' will be staged.
On December 30, at 12.00, at the Thuillier Theater, a family concert will be held based on the story of 'The Lion King'.
Tickets are priced at 10 euros in advance (sale at New Jewelry and Pub La Nota) and 15 euros at the Thuillier Theater box office.
The children's activities will culminate with the traditional Cabalgata de Reyes, scheduled for January 5, at 6.30 pm.
On the other hand, the Choir 'Arsis' will offer Christmas recitals in the church of La Candelaria de Barranda (December 24, at 12:00), in the church of the Carmelite Fathers (December 29, 8:00 pm) and in the parish of Santa Bárbara de Archivel (December 30, 7:00 pm).
