The Councilman of Pedanías, Enrique Fuentes, the General Director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández, and the Pedáneo of Los Prados, Yolanda Reina, made a test of the new traffic light installed on the RM-711 highway, which has been put into operation at the height of the social center of the caravaqueña district.
It is a demand made by Alejandro López, a blind neighbor, and the pediatric Yolanda Reina, due to the intensity of traffic on the county road, which links the towns of Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca, and the speed at which they transit the vehicles for this crossing.
A manual push button at the traffic light and an application installed on the user's mobile phone will serve to put the red light (for vehicles) stopping the traffic to cross without the risk.
The Councilman of Works and Pedanías, Enrique Fuentes, transferred to the representative of the Ministry of the Presidency and Development other claims of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, as the motion approved in plenary on the improvement of road safety on all crossings of the municipality, the extension of the Northwest Highway to the Industrial Estate of Cavila and the splitting of the entrance to the urban area in order to avoid collapses during peak hours and at the time of maximum influx of visitors.
For his part, the Director General of Roads, José Antonio Fernández, said that it is a totally justified demand because it is an action that goes to the benefit of road safety and that also serves the request made by Alejandro López.
