The Deputy Secretary of Communication of NNGG Caravaca, Ana Fernandez, and the president of the Federation of Students of the Region of Murcia, Rafael Olmos, have denounced the upheaval that the young people of the municipality of Caravaca are living in the middle of examinations, as well as opponents and students in general, who have seen reduced the schedule of the study rooms of the Municipal Library, a schedule that also varies according to the days and is not fixed.
"The Government team of our City Council is unfairly punishing students at a time of vital importance to them, as everyone knows, the university students do the final exams of the first semester during the month of January and February. Secondary and Baccalaureate students live there, since most subjects are subject to continuous evaluation, and even more so, 2nd grade students who are preparing for the University Entrance Exam in just five months ", has explained Ana Fernández.
This year there are also announcements of oppositions to teachers of Secondary, Police, Prison Administration, Justice, Murcian Health Service, etc.
and there are many daily users of the Library who are being affected by this reduction in hours, "users to whom the Pepe Moreno team is turning its back", added Ferández.
"The Popular Party, in its electoral program of 2015, had the creation of a study room, although today we are not here to demand this room, but to ask for an immediate solution to the problem we have," said the deputy secretary of Communication from NNGG, who explained that "we have spoken with the Councilor for Culture, Ă“scar Martínez, who has informed us that there are two people who are dependent on their Department, so they do not have staff to open the library at the usual time "
The consequence of these casualties is the reduction of the Library's hours, time that each day is one way, a few days the opening is at 4:30 p.m. and others at 6:30 p.m., a few days the closing is at 8:00 pm and other days at 9:00 p.m.
"From NNGG we propose the proposal of a temporary mobility of personnel, authorizing the mayor to have a work staff during the afternoons of January in the library. This person does not have to be a librarian, he simply has to ensure the correct If you do not want to do a mobility, another solution may be to send a policeman to ensure the correct use of the facilities, we do not ask that the library be in full use, simply we ask that it work as a study room, "said Ana Fernández.
For his part, Rafael Olmos has called on the Caravaca City Council to extend the schedule of the library's classrooms.
Feremur agglutinates 75% of the associated students in the Region of Murcia.
Its president has moved to Caravaca to ask for "an urgent meeting with the City Council to be able to resolve this situation as soon as possible since we are in the middle of an examination campaign and in a year with numerous competitions."
