The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Employment, and the Footwear Industries Association 'Calzia-Jute of Caravaca' have signed a collaboration agreement to promote training for employment.
The document has been initialed by the mayor, José Moreno, and the president of this association that brings together footwear companies from the Northwest, Manuel Polo.
Through this agreement, the Caravaqueño Consistory cedes the use of classrooms and workshops of the Municipal Employment and Training Center for the realization of a training strategy during the years 2018 and 2019, which will be composed of different courses, especially 'aparado', approved and with funding from the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).
In this sense, the mayor, José Moreno, said that for "the City Council is important to continue on the path of collaboration established with footwear companies, a sector that traditionally has contributed much to Caravaca de la Cruz and now does so more, thanks to the important jump that has taken place in terms of innovation and quality, something that has improved the positioning of the product manufactured in Caravaca in the national and international markets ".
The association 'Calzia-Jute of Caravaca' has among its main aims to improve the professional training of the sector, seeking the incorporation into the job market of people in situation of unemployment.
"The" aparado "is one of the productive processes that has evolved the most in recent years and currently represents an important bottleneck for the manufacture of footwear, so many factories are forced to outsource these tasks in companies in other provinces With the implementation of the new training strategy we intend to improve the skills of the unemployed and active workers and improve the competitiveness of the sector ", as detailed by the president of footwear impresario, Manuel Polo.
For its part, the manager of the association, Salvador Gómez, has advanced that the cession of municipal facilities and the subsidy of 60,000 recently granted to the association by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) will allow to expand the training It has been imparting up to now through the training cycle of Dual Vocational Training of Footwear or the Industrial Design course of Youth Guarantee that will end in the coming weeks. "The courses will be focused mainly on the productive process of 'aparado', an area in which there is a lack of qualified personnel and that can generate jobs.
