The City of Caravaca de la Cruz will conduct throughout the year various actions within a public awareness campaign aimed especially at animal owners company.
The general objective is to make the welfare and the rights of pets compatible, with the neighborly coexistence and a cleaner municipality.
The councilors of Health, María José Soria, and Emergency, Traffic and Public Safety, Pedro Antonio Muñoz, have explained that the campaign is based on the measures contained in the current Regulatory Ordinance of Tenure of Animals, based on three basic messages: implantation of a microchip, the collection of excrements from the public road and walking the dogs on a leash.
"As concrete actions, wedges are being issued at the municipal station and posters will be disseminated with the three messages, both in the public expression panels and on social networks." Also, actions aimed at minors will be carried out in order to educate in this aspect from an early age ", as reported by the head of the area of ​​Health, María José Soria, who has also advanced the Bureau of Animal Welfare, a new body created from a joint motion approved in the municipal Plenary , will be convened soon to study and make contributions to an update of the Municipal Ordinance of Tenure of Animals, which will adapt to the new Law of Protection and Defense of Animals of Company of the Region of Murcia.
For his part, the mayor of Emergencies, Traffic and Public Safety has reported that the Local Police is also involved in this campaign of public awareness, reporting and applying, if necessary, the sanctions contained in the aforementioned ordinance, so he has requested "Citizenship and collaboration so that, together, we can achieve a cleaner city".
