Ciudadanos has presented the main lines of its project for municipal budgets, based on transparency and medium-term planning.
"These are the bases that we propose before a possible negotiation of the municipal accounts with the government team, because we want a city council that cares about people and that citizens know that their taxes are used to improve services and benefits", highlighted the local spokesman, José Carlos Gómez, who has highlighted his predisposition to dialogue and consensus in the preparation of budgets "adequate and necessary for the development of Caravaca de la Cruz in the medium term."
The main basis of negotiation will be for Cs in which budget planning "is contemplated in the medium term and not as a tabula rasa year after year.
If this is not done, there will be no continuity in the investments and efforts that are made and will remain in water of booze, "the orange spokesman has warned.
In the chapter of Transparency and Improvement of the Administration, Citizens proposes an audit and reduction of duplicities and superfluous expenses "so that this reduction of the expense can be used to cover real needs of the neighbors".
In this line, Cs proposes an "optimization" of the Job List and a rigorous analysis of current tenders, especially legal advice, "in order to resolve any contract that presents breaches or irregularities."
Cs wants to recover the Liquidation Office to improve tax collection and reduce as much as possible the municipal debt and the long terms of payment to suppliers by the Consistory, as well as open the administrative councils of the three municipal societies to the control of the groups of opposition.
To boost the local economy, Citizens proposes the development of a new industrial estate and strengthen the commitment to innovation and quality tourism "always with a broad perspective, in the medium term, forgetting short-term policies or focused on electoral periods", points out the orange spokesperson
This strategy would include the proposals for the creation of the Entrepreneur Office and a Tourism Master Plan, as well as the commitment to improving and continuing the Footwear Fair.
Innovation and the development of information technologies (ICT) should also have budgetary support, through initiatives such as the implementation and consolidation of electronic administration or the Smart City project.
In the services chapter, Gómez has proposed an extension of library hours, the creation of 24-hour study rooms and the elimination or rethinking of the Blue Zone system for parking in the city.
Improvements in districts and urban planning
"We are clear that in Caravaca de la Cruz there are no first or second class citizens, so we also want the districts to improve thanks to our action", said the orange spokesman, who considers it urgent that budgets include investments in districts to improve the communications with the urban helmet or to improve its security with the start-up of a retaining own of the Local Police to attend them.
In urban planning and infrastructures, Cs proposes as a framework a new General Urban Plan, as well as a boost to sports facilities "with objective and measurable criteria to ensure equal opportunities for all clubs and associations in the municipality," said Gómez.
