The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Works and Urban Planning, is executing the various actions included in the Works and Services Plan 2017, which includes five projects for a total amount of 217,843 euros.
The mayor, José Moreno, and the councilor responsible for the area, Enrique Fuentes, have visited some of the works that will allow an improvement of the road in vials and steels in different parts of the urban area, thanks to the projects drafted, executed and contracted by the own City Council, within the Plan of Works and Services, a plan that has funding from municipal and regional funds and is aimed at Murcia municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants to carry out actions in the field of infrastructure and basic equipment.
"There are many needs that the municipality has, but we must prioritize those spaces that are more deteriorated, as is the case of the Calvary neighborhood where they had not produced investments for some time, and there are other works being executed or already executed in the streets of the Magisterium, San Simón, Mayrena, Alfonso Zamora and the industrial zones of Santa Inés and in the old race of Murcia ", as the mayor highlighted.
For his part, the councilor responsible for Works and Urbanism has added that "the losses in the budget that have been achieved in the bidding process will allow the realization of two other works, which are the repair of street sign Barrio Nuevo Under and in the street Mayor of Barranda, actions also demands by the neighbors, that the City council has decided to include in this plan ".
Specifically, the actions that are being carried out, within the Plan of Works and Services of 2017, are 'Reinforcement of the pavement and stretch of steels in the streets Magisterio and San Simón', with an amount of 47.795 euros;
'Pavement improvements in Calvario street', with a budget of 47,900 euros;
'Reinforcement of the road in streets Mayrena and Alfonso Zamora', adjudged by 30,890 euros;
'Reinforcement of roads in roads of Murcia industrial road', awarded by 51,328, and 'Reinforcement of the firm in Industrial Estate of Santa Inés', with a budget of 39,930 euros.
Reformation of the Plaza de los Templarios
On the other hand, the works of urban remodeling and accessibility in the Plaza de los Templarios, another project executed by the Department of Works of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, with a total budget of 40,349 euros are also being executed.
This action has an aid of 14,000 euros, from the General Directorate of Commerce of the Autonomous Community, within the grants directed to local governments for investments in local environments, a grant that was requested last year by the Department of Commerce of the Caravaqueño Consistory, based on the demands and concerns raised by neighbors and merchants.
The rest of the budget, 26,349 euros, is contributed by the Caravaqueño City Council.
The works in the central Plaza de los Templarios will consist of the arrangement and renovation of this urban environment, where numerous homes are located, as well as 56 commercial establishments spread across the plaza and adjacent streets.
In particular, it is proceeding to the complete renovation of the pavement on a surface of 600 square meters and the installation of new gardening and urban furniture, as well as the creation of adapted pedestrian crossings.
The general objective is to improve road safety and accessibility for pedestrians, since the area had a very deteriorated condition due to the passage of time and the growth of tree roots.
Soon, another action to improve infrastructures will begin in the Plaza de Arco, within the aforementioned reform plan in commercial environments.
