The Alfami Foundation has allocated 25,440 euros to study scholarships aimed at students from Caravaca.
For the current academic year, a total of 134 grants have been awarded, distributed in 14 grants of 700 euros to university students, 44 of Baccalaureate and training courses for 200 euros and 76 for Primary and Secondary for 90 euros.
The scholarship holders are proposed by the directors of the teaching centers, as better knowledgeable of their aptitudes, or at their own request, evaluating later the patronage both the academic record and the family situation of the student.
From the foundation inform that the list of admitted and excluded can be consulted in the General Register of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The deadline to apply for the scholarships corresponding to the 2018/2019 academic year will be opened next September.
The student must have, at least, an age of 10 years and be registered in Caravaca de la Cruz.
The Alfami Foundation faithfully complies with the testament of Alfonso López Álvarez, whose express wish was to create a foundation of charitable nature aimed at supporting students without resources.
Its fundamental purpose, as expressly stated in its statutes, is "to give light to privileged intelligences and obscured by the lack of financial means through scholarships for subsidies that facilitate the completion of their studies".
The Alfami scholarships were awarded for the first time in 1989. Since then, the foundation has granted more than 2,000 financial aid to caravaque students, for an amount close to 700,000 euros.
