The Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, within the activities of animation to the reading promoted by the Municipal Public Library, presents this Friday, February 9, at 8.00 pm, in the hall of the sacristy of the Company de Jesús, the poetry book 'Lo salvaje', by the writer Vega Cerezo.
The presentation of this collection of poems is part of the 'Encounters with Author', which are held on a monthly basis to publicize the work of Murcia writers.
In these meetings, open to the general public, members of the Reading Club 'La Candela', who have previously read and studied the work, participate.
Vega Cerezo Martín, a Librarianship and Documentation graduate from the University of Murcia and specialist in Cultural Management and Economics of Cultural Industries, has published three poetry works;
'The sleeping siren', 'I am a country' and 'The wild'.
From his last work he explains that "the book constantly appeals to our animality, and it often happens that the part that understands the least is the rational." In many of the poems, the rational voice asks the animal, because it does not understand. But the animal does not explain, it simply acts, it harmonizes us with ourselves ".
Cerezo Martín's poems have also appeared published in anthologies such as' Animales entre animales', 'Los pootes por Ayotzinapa' and 'Contra.
Poetry in the face of repression. '
In addition to the 'Encounters with author', the Department of Culture carries out other activities for the animation and promotion of reading, aimed at both children and adults.
Every Tuesday, starting at 6.15, storytelling workshops are held, aimed at children aged between 4 and 8 years old.
On Thursdays, at 6:00 p.m., the sessions of the 'Creative Writing' workshop, aimed at older people, are given.
To participate in both the storytelling and creative writing workshops, you only have to register, free of charge, at the library's front desk during the previous week.
