The City of Caravaca de la Cruz acquires a new vehicle for the services provided by the Local Police in terms of citizen safety and traffic.

The Government Board has awarded in its last meeting the contract for four years to the local company 'Automoción Noroeste', for an amount amounting to 27,360 euros.

On the other hand, the Local Police of Caravaca de la Cruz will receive a new digital hygrometer, which will be shared with other municipalities for semesterly periods, as well as indiciarios kits for the control of alcohol and drugs among drivers, within the campaign of collaboration that has been developing during the last years between the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia and the Ministry of the Interior, through the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, with the aim of improving road safety and reduce accidents on the roads.

These means are added to the vehicle equipped with an ethylometer, which the Provincial Traffic Authority has assigned to the municipalities of the Northwest Region and which remains in each municipality for 15 days.

From the Department of Safety, Traffic and Emergencies of the caravaqueño Consistory trained local police officers in the prevention of accidents caused by drug use, through the course 'Instruction of police proceedings in crimes against public health.

Detection of drugs, narcotics and psychotropic substances in drivers. "This theoretical-practical course was taught at the end of last year by professionals from the School of Training and Innovation, under the General Directorate of Public Function and Quality of Services, and is integrated into the training plan for Caravaca Local Police agents in order to improve and update their knowledge in favor of road safety and citizen of the municipality, which provided 24 agents with the necessary knowledge to evaluate the previous symptoms and perform the pertinent tests and controls, through a fast and effective system to detect drugs in those drivers who present signs in the consumption of these substances.
