The Department of Youth of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has launched the eleventh edition of the program of prevention of drug addiction 'Healthy Travel', an initiative that this course has the participation of 44 young people in the town.
The 'Healthy Journey' program seeks the active involvement of young people in the prevention of drug use.
The 4th year students of Compulsory Secondary Education who participate in this project attend different workshops and lectures during six months, a period of time in which they also assume the commitment to quit or not start in consumption, undergoing various controls.
The program is coordinated by the technicians of the area of ​​Youth and the doctor Hospital Comarcal del Noroeste, Sandro Guachi.
The name of the program responds to the way of motivating young people, since they reach the final stage they participate in a leisure program during a weekend in a youth hostel.
In addition, they enter the draw from which the participants are chosen in a European youth meeting.
During the years that the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has been developing the program 'healthy travel' more than 600 young people, of the four secondary schools of the municipality, have been part of it, establishing itself as a program of prevention of drug addiction for adolescents in our municipality.
