The municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Moratalla and Calasparra, through the Commonwealth of Social Services of the Northwest and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, work on the drafting and implementation of a Regional Plan for the Prevention of Drug Addiction, with the aim of coordinating all the actions that are developed in the Northwest in this area, counting on the contributions of the professionals and associations involved and updating the information on available and necessary resources.
The first step for the creation of this plan has occurred this morning with the celebration of a day, which has been inaugurated by the mayor of Caravaca, José Moreno, and the Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora and has had the participation of some 60 people, including Health and Education professionals, representatives of AMPAS, technicians of the entities that work with people with drug addiction problems, members of the security forces and bodies and technicians of the Youth Councils, among others.
The mayor of Caravaca has stressed the importance of "working on prevention so that addictions do not occur and for that it is essential to make an X-ray of the current situation and give voice to all the agents involved, creating a master plan that lends special attention to the most vulnerable social groups ".
Through the day held in Caravaca de la Cruz a consultation process begins to know the different opinions on this problem, as well as possible measures and actions to continue advancing in its solution.
Based on this, a draft of the Regional Plan for the Prevention of Drug Dependencies will be drawn up, setting out the priorities for action for the next four years and making proposals based on consensus.
