The Community allocates 218,000 euros to improve the paving and paving of several roads in Caravaca de la Cruz, projects that are part of the Works and Services Plan of 2017, according to the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, who today He visited five works in the locality that the entire Community finances.
Carrillo said that "these projects benefit citizens and seek to increase basic facilities in municipalities with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants."
The Works and Service Plan, he said, "reaches 550,000 inhabitants of the Region, which demonstrates the municipal character of this Government."
The Works and Services Plan of 2017 that is being executed in Caravaca de la Cruz includes five projects related to the reinforcement of the Mairena Street and Alfonso Zamora streets, with an amount of 30,890 euros;
the reinforcement of the road in the Santa Inés Industrial Estate (left margin and secondary road), with 39,930 euros;
paving improvements in Calvario street (47,900 euros);
the reinforcement of the road surface of the industrial zone of the Murcia highway (51,328 euros);
and reinforcement of the pavement and steel section of the Magisterio street and San Simón street (47,795 euros).
The Minister of Finance and Public Administration stressed that "thanks to these projects these areas are provided with the necessary urban services, the road safety of pedestrians is improved and the quality of life of citizens is increased".
In addition, indicated that the Works and Services Plan, which funds the Community, also has input from the municipalities, "but in many cases, as in this Caravaca, the reduction of the amount on the tender has caused the cost is reduced , so the investment is entirely assumed by the Community, helping in this way to ensure that the municipality does not have to spend any money on these works, which contributes to the balance of the municipal coffers since they can allocate that amount to other initiatives ".
The head of the Treasury recalled that the plan has a biennial character from this exercise "so that the municipalities can carry out works of greater scope and importance".
For the 2018/2019 biennium, the Community will allocate a total of 488,446 euros for the Works and Services Plan in Caravaca de la Cruz, at a rate of 244,223 euros per annuity.
The Works and Services Plan for 2018/2019 will reach the 41 municipalities of the Region of less than 50,000 inhabitants.
This initiative includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which 6 are borne by the Community.
Among the main actions include actions to improve streets and sidewalks, renovation of public lighting, improvements in parks, replacement of services and works in municipal facilities.
