A group of experts from the Community and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, together with representatives of the Caravaca de la Cruz Wine Horses Band, are finalizing the document that the Kingdom of Spain will present at the end of March at UNESCO so that this party becomes part of the Representative List of Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2020.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Javier Celdrán, said that "today the technical meeting has been held to adapt the application to the new requirements of UNESCO in order to adapt the aspects of the registration form to the evaluation criteria and quality to access the evaluation of the international organization with the greatest guarantees of success ".
Celdrán noted that "it is necessary to adapt the first documents submitted to the new forms approved at the last meeting of the UNESCO Convention of 2017. It is a very concrete work that gathers the latest contributions from the riders and that will have to be translated into English and French. "
The purpose of the document is to accurately reflect the uniqueness of this unique festival worldwide and will be accompanied by photographs and a video about the Caballos del Vino that is also being revised.
It is necessary to remember that the Caravaca de la Cruz proposal for The Horses of the Wine obtained in 2010 the inclusion in the Tentative List, through approval of the Historical Heritage Council.
Subsequently, in March 2012, the aforementioned Council, made up of all the representatives of the general directorates in the area of ​​culture of the different autonomous governments, approved to raise the proposals and calendars of the Valencia Fallas Festival -which managed to be included in the the list last year- and Los Caballos del Vino as proposals of the Spanish state for 2020.
