The City of Caravaca de la Cruz held a public act of giving accounts, in the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez', which was an assessment of municipal management and reviewed the actions that are being carried out from the different areas.
The mayor, José Moreno, participated in the meeting, as well as the different councilors that make up the government team.
The mayor said that this act, which is held for the second time during the current term, "is a new sample of transparency and citizen participation, an area in which there has been a significant breakthrough, thanks to various initiatives such as district councils or the participatory processes carried out with the Strategy of Sustainable Urban Development '(EDUSI) or with the Regulation of Citizen Participation recently approved in Plenary.
"The objective is to make a balance of almost three years of management, in which each councilor provides an overview of their area, explaining what we are, what is being done and what are the future projects," he explained.
José Moreno also influenced, among other aspects, the work carried out in front of the Treasury area, from where payment plans have been drawn up to order outstanding debt with consortiums and other organizations, such as the Commonwealth of Social Services, the Management Consortium of Solid Residues or the National University of Distance Education (UNED), among others.
He also reported that the debt to suppliers has been reduced substantially, from eight to four million and that the municipalization of executive collection has allowed in a year to triple the figures that were reached through the agreement that existed previously with the Regional Collection Agency.
The policy of cost containment, the revision of contracts to the downside, the improvement of revenues and realistic budgets are some of the main lines of action that mark the management of the Municipal Treasury.
"All these advances in economic issues are important, but we are also paying special attention to those that have to do with social services, with culture, with employment, with tourism, with education, with security or with works. of improvement in public spaces, "he added.
The mayor also referred to the effort made to face the Jubilee Year 2017, "a work that has paid off and has allowed us to face this event in a satisfactory manner, with an intense social and cultural activity, a reinforcement of institutional relations and a important positioning for the municipality as a tourist destination ".
Among the actions carried out, he cited some as the presence in some of the most important tourism fairs, with a joint offer with other municipalities of the Northwest Region.
