Ángel Rodríguez García, who completed his studies at the 'Leandro Martínez Romero' Conservatory in Caravaca de la Cruz, has received one of the Extraordinary Prizes for Professional Artistic Education corresponding to the 2016-2017 school year, granted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Autonomous Community to the best records of all the conservatories of the Region.
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno;
the Councilor for Education and Youth of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Esther Poveda, and the director of the Conservatory 'Leandro Martínez Romero', Raul Bartomeu, attended the awards ceremony and congratulated the student for this award which recognizes the academic and professional trajectory based on the work, effort and dedication of the students who complete the artistic education.
Ángel Rodríguez García, a native of Calasparra, already won the first prize in the V edition of the Contest for Young Performers Villa de Molina and in 2017 he won the first prize in the 20th edition of the 'Between Strings and Metals Competition in the Region of Murcia' .
He is currently preparing to pass the entrance exams to the Conservatorio Superior at the OKHO Academy in Madrid.
The winners in this competition have been, in the modality of Music, Lázaro Fernández, of the piano specialty of the Conservatory of Music 'Narciso Yepes' of Lorca;
Fernando José Segura of the specialty Flute Travesera also of the Conservatory of Music 'Narciso Yepes' of Lorca;
Álvaro Miguel García de Viola, from the Music Conservatory of Murcia;
Ángel Rodríguez from the specialty of Percussion at the Music Conservatory of Caravaca de la Cruz and Sofía Sánchez from the Violin specialty at the Music Conservatory 'Maestro Jaime López', from Molina de Segura.
In the modality of Dance Julia Cano has been awarded the specialty of Classical Dance of the Conservatory of Dance of Murcia and in the discipline of Plastic Arts and Design the winners were Enrique Pardo of the professional family of Graphic and Audiovisual Communication of the specialty of Photograph of the School of Art of Murcia and Nuria Noguera of the Artistic Family of Art Jewelery of the Specialty of Art Jewelery of the School of Art of Murcia.
The winners of the Music and Dance modalities take this year the higher studies of Music and Dance in different centers of the country.
The winners of Plastic Arts and Design extend their training by studying a new specialty of these teachings.
All the winners have been selected by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and proposed to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to participate in the corresponding National Awards of Professional Artistic Education, pending call.
In 2017-2018, almost 2,700 students in the Region are taking professional art courses, 97 percent in public centers.
The total of students of artistic education in their different educational levels is of 5,170, including 1,440 of Elementary Teachings of Music and Dance and 1,030 of Superior Artistic Teachings.

Ángel Rodríguez García, a native of Calasparra, 1999. He began his musical studies at the age of seven in the Music School of that town and at the age of eleven he was already part of the Music Band.
At twelve he enters the Conservatory of Music of Caravaca de la Cruz "Leandro Martinez Romero", where he studies graduating in 2017 with the qualification of Honors.
Supported at all times by the teacher who accompanies his development Jesús González, during the last years of professional studies, his interest in learning lead him to carry out numerous courses of technique and interpretation that complement his training, such as Marimba taught at the Conservatorio de Cieza by Conrado Moya and others with professors within the percussion as Raúl Benavent (RTVE), Esau Borreda (Madrid Symphony), Verónica Cagigao (Madrid), Antonio Soto (Madrid), Carolina Alcaraz (Orchestra of Córdoba).
He has participated in the Band of Students of the Conservatories of the Region of Murcia, in the Symphonic Band of the Federation of Bands of the Region of Murcia, in the Youth Orchestra of the Northwest of Murcia, in the Band and the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Caravaca de la Cruz
