The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz approved at the last ordinary plenary the general budget for the year 2018, with the favorable votes of the government team and the abstention of the opposition political groups.
The Department of Finance took forward a budget amounting to 23,709,700 euros, being a level accounts both in its facet of income and cats.
This figure represents an increase of 0.585% with respect to the last 2016 budget, since in 2017 they were extended.
The budget, as explained by Councilwoman Julia Giménez, "is designed to solve the needs and problems that Caravaqueña citizens pose, offering answers to new defendants, through new policies."
The one that has been the holder of the areas of Finance and Employment during the present mandate - until its resignation to the act of councilman, due to labor reasons, at the end of the last plenary session - defended that "despite the harsh economic circumstances in which the Town Hall is still there, balanced and realistic budgets have been achieved, being in this sense an example of responsibility ".
He highlighted social aid, subsidies for the rehabilitation of housing in the old town, economic contributions for the revision of the General Plan for Urban Development, aid for entrepreneurs and subsidies for hiring workers, among other measures.
From the income statement it should be noted that those of an ordinary or current nature are of the order of 23.42 million.
It is estimated a direct tax income of 11.95 million euros, which is an amount greater than 900,000 euros to that reflected in the 2016 budget, considering the additions of real estate units that are expected to incorporate the review work that is leading out the City Council.
With regard to current transfers, a prudent option has been chosen, not including all forecasts of possible transfers from the Autonomous Community, which will now be set at € 7,259,351.00.
Of the State of Expenses, also encrypted in 23,709,700 euros, Julia Giménez said that it is an eminently social budget, maintaining the commitment to education, tourism and culture.
In this sense, there is an increase in items intended to reinforce social assistance and maintenance in public schools, among others, and the installation in Caravaca of a Municipal School of Hospitality was first budgeted.
"We are committed to culture, cinema, theater, concerts and, in addition, we continue to work so that Caravaca is a national and international tourist reference, whether or not it is a Jubilee Year," said Julia Giménez.
As for current expenses, which contain personnel expenses, they increase by 13.35%, in relation to social contributions and the incorporation of credits to address the impact that the revision of the List of Job Positions may produce.
Current expenses amount to a total of 21,039,057.83 euros, 0.59% more than in the year of 2016.
The chapter dedicated to current transfers experienced an increase close to 700,000 euros, from 2,177,750.00 to 2,704,351.00 euros, due to the inclusion of the provisions for the effective liquidation of the Caravaca Jubilar company, "one of the most relevant objectives to execute in this budget year ".
A total of 1,080,642.17 euros correspond to real investments, financing these both with own resources in the amount of 822,419 euros and capital transfers amounting to 258,223 euros, to carry out actions such as: improvement of vials of the Plan Works and Services POS (262,773 euros), expropriation and acquisition of land (150,000 euros), Strategy for Sustainable Urban Development (56,000 euros), revision of the General Plan for Urban Planning (50,000 euros), electronic administration (50,000 euros) and Plaza remodeling del Arco (36,926 euros), among others.
On the other hand, 1,400,000 euros are contemplated for loan repayments.
The adhesion of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz to the Fund of Ordination was processed, previously, through the appropriate file of modification of credits, approved last March 6 by the Municipal Plenary.
Fruit of the negotiation process of the Department of Finance and political groups have included proposals made by Izquierda Unida, such as aid for housing rehabilitation of the old town, and Citizens, such as the Office of the Entrepreneur or the grant for the Footwear Fair.
The municipal budget includes one of the amendments presented by the Municipal Group of the Partido Popular to grant an aid of 3,000 euros to the two local associations of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.
