The Local Security Board of Caravaca de la Cruz, co-chaired by the mayor, José Moreno, and the Government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Bernabé, has met to approve the Safety, Traffic and Emergency Plan prepared by the Consistory caravaqueño for the organization and coordination of the different devices that intervene from April 30 to May 5, during the acts of the patron saint festivities in honor of the Santísima and Vera Cruz.
The councilor for Security, Traffic and Emergencies, Pedro Antonio Muñoz, participated in the meeting;
the General Director of Citizen Security and Emergencies of the Autonomous Community, José Ramón Carrasco, and the elder sister of the Brotherhood of Vera Cruz, Elisa Giménez-Girón, along with the Civil Guard, Local Police, the Consortium of Extinction of Fire and Rescue (CEIS) and representatives of local groups of Civil Protection and Red Cross.
The mayor pointed out at the beginning of the meeting that "there are days of conviviality and joy, that many people congregate the streets of our town, and it is necessary to have all the preventive devices ready to guarantee security during the holidays and a response as much as possible. agile and coordinated possible to any need. The delegate of the Government has advanced that "there will be more than 60 Civil Guard troops, both the Caravaca post and special units of Security and Traffic, which provide daily service, in tune and coordination with the Local Police of Caravaca as it has been happening so far. "
For its part, the Autonomous Community, through its General Directorate for Citizen Security and Emergencies, will reinforce the provision of the Caravaca Regional Fire Park and will install the Advanced Command Post, which will include representation of all the security and services bodies. emergency.
It will also provide the aerial means for reconnaissance flights and possible transfers.
The councilor for Safety, Traffic and Emergency explained that the plan repeats the scheme of recent years, including some new features to achieve, among other things, that are a cardioprotected parties, with the installation of defibrillators in all positions of Civil Protection, that will be added to those that have ambulances scattered around different parts of the urban area. "He also referred to the installation of security barriers on public roads that prevent road traffic to the places with the greatest number of people.
There will be about 370 employees, including professionals in the security services, health services and maintenance of public spaces, which are part of the special plan that will be deployed on the occasion of the festivities.
The 60 Civil Guard agents are joined by 40 local policemen, about a hundred volunteers from Civil Protection and the Red Cross, as well as health personnel who will provide their services both in ambulances of Advanced Life Support (Mobile UVI) and in the assistance.
In plan also includes other aspects related to municipal services, such as the installation of 250 points of public urinals, which will be placed in spaces close to the celebration of events.
