Both in the City of Caravaca and the Regional Assembly of Murcia and the Congress of Deputies the PP has always taken the initiative to promote the candidacy
The senator of the Kingdom of Spain Severa González has informed that the next Committee of Culture of the Senate will debate a motion of the Popular Group in which urges the Government of Spain to promote the candidature of the Horses of the Wine to Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the UNESCO.
González, accompanied by the president of the PP of Caravaca, José Francisco García, has visited Caravaca on the occasion of the Day of the Handkerchief held by the Bando de los Caballos del Vino on the Saturday before May 2 to raise awareness of this initiative.
"Los Caballos del Vino is a celebration that amazes and impresses everyone who knows it, where a series of social, cultural, historical, religious and traditional elements come together that go beyond the simple festive event, converting it into an anthropological manifestation recognized as unique in the world, "said the senator.
The Senate will join other institutions, such as the Congress of Deputies, the Regional Assembly of Murcia, the regional government or the City of Caravaca, who have already expressed their support for this candidacy, recognizing the Caballos del Vino as one of the more brilliant shows, aesthetically and emotionally, of how many make up the rich Spanish festive-cultural repertoire.
José Francisco García recalled that in all these cases, it has always been the PP that has taken the initiative to boost support for this candidacy.
Also the celebration received in the year 2011 the declaration of Intangible Cultural Interest of the Region of Murcia, based on its age, popularity, ethnographic wealth, artistic values, etc.
"The Senate was the only institution that was missing to support this candidacy that seems to be closer every day and in which it has been working for several years, so it is an important support that has been promoted by our colleague Severa González ", added José Francisco García.
