Coinciding with the celebration of Holy Year 2010, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena in the coming days will discuss the cultural heritage of the Church and the draft in the course Caravaca Jubilee Restoration, Management and Communication Built Heritage.
The mayor, Domingo Aranda, opens the eighth edition of the course this afternoon at 17.00 at the International Centre for the Study of Vera Cruz, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor for Student and University Extension, Francisco Martínez.

Collado, explained that the Polytechnic University of Cartagena want to collaborate with the Holy Year 2010 and it is planned by the director of the Secretariat for Cultural Heritage of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, Manuel Iniguez Ruiz de Clavijo, who will talk about the importance and management of cultural heritage of the Church in Spain, with references to the uniqueness of the Jubilee Year of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The rich cultural and architectural heritage Caravaca will be reviewed by the city historian, José Antonio Melgares, and everything that relates to the organization, planning, programming, management and dissemination of the Jubilee Year will be presented by Caravaca Caravaca manager Jubilee, John Rigabert.
The management of historic cities through special protection plans will be a treme to be analyzed within the course.
Also for examples of interventions in architectural heritage, it has the participation of technicians from Lorquimur Villegas y Construcciones SL SL exhibited by concrete examples, methods of intervention for the restoration and conservation of heritage buildings.
Finally, we examine and expose the work of restoration and enhancement held in different churches on the occasion of the exhibition "The Glory of Baroque" organized by the Foundation The Light of Images, in Valencia, as such outside intervention the scope of the Murcia region in order to contribute to the discussion and debate about the built heritage.
