The Session presented in December's record of National Tourist Interest Events
The mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, accompanied by the representative of the Aguilanderos Barranda, Juan Fernandez and the president of the Association of Artisans, Angel Miñano, this morning the thirty-third edition of the Festival of the crews, to be held Barranda on Sunday 30 January.
The festival will be wrapped by the Study Session on Oral Tradition Culture, Folk Festival and I Barranda Market Trades and rural traditions.
The last Sunday of January the hamlet Barranda caravaqueña gather round and crews arriving from different parts of Spain as Ávila, Albacete, Castellón and Malaga.
Also involved several groups from Aguilas Murcia, Moratalla, Patiño, Lorca and Caravaca.
The events planned for the day will begin with the traditional Mass sung by the Brotherhood of Souls Patino, followed by the reception of participants and authorities, "street gangs" and the clash and dance loose in the Social Hall.
Keeping the same format of previous editions, the program will start on 27, 28 and 29 January with the Days of Oral Tradition Study, formed an extensive program of activities and talks to both the faculty and the students.
On 28 and 29 January will be held on Barranda Azarbe Folk performances from the Panda Verdiales Baños del Carmen Malaga, Taray and Round The Tenacity of Tietar Avila Valley.
The City Council has strengthened this year's festival program of the organization Crews on Saturday, 29, and Saturday, 30, of the First Market of the Crafts and Rural Traditions.
It will be a craft market in which specially selected, will offer products related to crafts and traditions of the hamlets and farms of Caravaca and surrounding areas.
The Department of Tourism and Handicrafts planned the demonstration workshops esparto, stone, metal smelting and workshops for children in costume, makeup and paint.
In recent years the city of Caravaca is conducting a promotion campaign for the Feast of the crews in order to obtain the statement of Party of National Tourist Interest.
The file, which contains among many other aspects of accession 41 letters and more than 30 appearances on national media, was presented last December at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The record is the result of an ambitious and well-structured work that fits closely with the legal requirements and that argues, with an evidence base, the revitalization that has brought to the oral tradition of music celebrating the Feast of the crews, considered one of the oldest cultural events of its kind and most important of all those made in Spain.
