The Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca has launched a new campaign of reforestation with the collaboration of various schools of the municipality.
The campaign started this morning with the participation of more than 160 students from schools El Salvador "," San Francisco "," Santa Cruz "and institute" Gines Perez Chirinos, who have gone through the natural landscape of the Sierra The Hawk to collaborate with environmental agents in planting trees.
Throughout the day today have been planted 500 species native Aleppo pine, oak, mastic and buckthorn.
The campaign will continue in the coming days Archivel collaboration with students of the IES Oróspeda as brought forward the mayor of the Environment, Antonia Maria Alvarez, who pointed out other actions in the field of reforestation as those carried out in the spot Loma Ark of the students from the School District Adult or square Hermanos Pinzón with Apcom users.
"This way we pursue the twin objectives of raising awareness among children about the importance of protecting the environment and at the same time contributing to reforestation and forest sites in our municipality," said the councilman.
During the visit to the mountains of El Gavilán, Councilwoman Alvarez Jorquera also recalled other actions related to environmental restoration carried out recently in Caravaca as restoring the slopes of Castle, the improvement actions and value in the place de las Fuentes del Marqués, the reform of the Hall of Nature or the Robinwood project, currently underway, focused on hydrogeological and ecological recovery of river bed and banks of the River Quípar.
