Caravaca City Council recalls the obligation to be licensed for the keeping of animals listed as potentially dangerous.
The permit is requested at the General Register of the City, after verifying compliance with the following qualifications of the applicant, be of age, no criminal record, have physical ability and psychological fitness to possess this type of animal and title insurance liability for damage to third parties.
The dog breeds that are considered potentially hazardous are: Rottweiler, Pit Bull, Doberman, Neapolitan Mastiff, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Akita, Bullmastiff, Staffordshire, Presa Canario and Fila Brasileiro.
The license entitles the holder to possess these animals as by the Law 50/1999 which gives municipalities the power to grant such permits.
On the other hand, is in effect Tenure Regulatory Ordinance Companion Animals as general legislation reconciles the right to have pets with standards of living of citizens.
This requirement is based on the principles of the animals to enjoy adequate living conditions and the duty to control and prevent the inconvenience and dangers that animals can cause people and the environment.
According to the ordinance approved by the City Council is prohibited abusing or assaulting the animal and keep improper installation.
In addition, the legislation also requires pet owners to immediately clean the deposits on roads and public spaces.
