The town of Caravaca de la Cruz has a new Centre for Child Care, the CAI 'Peke-world', which opened this afternoon by the Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, accompanied by Director General of Family , Gender and Children, Laura Muñoz, and the mayor of the municipality, Domingo Aranda.
The new CAI, located in the urban area of the city (intersection of Miguel Angel Blanco and Juan Fernández), has 82 places for children aged between 4 and 36 months, although care is provided for children up to high 6.
Total project cost, including equipment, 1,187,658 euros, the Autonomous Community has contributed 836,574 euros and the City, 351,084.
This center, like the two other two in the municipality, is managed by Pronto Cooperative Society.
When operating at full capacity is expected to create 11 jobs.
The new service has socio CAI first grade kindergarten, toy library in the evenings and holidays for children up to 12 years and special time bands according to parental demand.
We also have dining and art workshops, dance and gymnastics.
The current time is 9 to 14 and from 16 to 20 hours, extendable specific days according to family needs.
Is expected, upon demand, setting the hours of 8 to 20 hours continuously.
Next to this center in the town are operating Points Child Care (PAIs) located in the districts of Barranda and file, with capacity for 41 children each.
To date, the autonomous region have invested in Caravaca de la Cruz 1,351,891 euros in childcare, which is the grant of 164 seats.
At the regional level, through December 2010, the building, remodeling, equipping and commissioning of facilities childcare for children birth to three years has required an investment of 42,159,582 euros.
With this many CAIs have been built and 86 countries and been renovated and furnished 24, which equates to 8,218 subsidized spaces.
This year is expected to start operating 26 centers.
