The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, in collaboration with Apcom, has scheduled a conference open to the Day Centre and Residence of Dependents for all citizens who wish to know these new facilities located in the hamlet of El Copo ".
Guided tours are planned, led by center professionals, for Friday, March 4 at 11.00 and 17.00 hours and Saturday, March 5, at 1100 hours.
Day Centre and Residence of Dependents was inaugurated on Monday by President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, accompanied by the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and the Minister of Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana.
The new building is ready to provide comprehensive care to 72 people living in severe functional dependence.
The center, located next to the offices of Apcom, has rooms for leisure and rest, physiotherapy workshops and 24 individual bedrooms and 2, among other facilities.
Residency programs provide the user with basic activities of daily living necessary to improve self-care and encourage personal independence of people with disabilities.
It also will feature health and social care and therapeutic services.
For its part, the Day Center promotes and enhances the capacity and autonomy of disabled people and their families, catering and transport.
Occupational workshops available that incorporate some of the users of the current Occupational Center Apcom.
