The Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca, in collaboration with agents of the Directorate General of the Environment and Oróspeda IES students, made a plantation of trees and shrubs on the site of "The Tosquilla" of the hamlet of Barranda.
This initiative is part of the 2010/2011 reforestation campaign being carried out in landscaped areas and natural environments of the municipality with the involvement of different schools.
Throughout the morning we have planted about 250 native species of Aleppo pine, stone pine, Mastic, Alabierno, Espino Albar and Oak Quejigo.
The Department of Environment has enjoyed the cooperation of about 60 students from 3 of the ESO Oróspeda Archivel Institute, which, as directed by environmental agents, have planted trees and shrubs in the populated areas of "The Tosquilla ".
"With initiatives like this we fulfill the dual purpose of natural areas to help improve our municipality and to inculcate in the young people respect for nature," he pointed out the mayor of the Environment, Antonia Maria Alvarez.
The reforestation carried out in "The Tosquilla" adds to the plantings in places like the Hill of the Ark, with the collaboration of students from the School District Adult Pinzón Brothers in place with users of Apcom, and the environment Sierra de "The Hawk", with different schools of Caravaca.
