The Freight Transport Centre Caravaca de la Cruz has improved and expanded its facilities with an investment of close to 400,000 euros.
The actions taken highlights the expansion of the area for maneuvering and parking, improved lighting of the building and installing a video surveillance system.
The Minister of Public Works, José Ballesta, has opened these facilities accompanied by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the president of the Association of Road Transport Discretionary Caravaca, Clemente Garcia.
During the site visit, the Minister stated that "through the implementation of such projects from the Ministry is moving in the action plan designed by the regional government for the consolidation of a network of logistics and intermodal terminals coverage in the whole regional territory, through the growth of the main distribution platforms in the Region, "concluded Jose Ballesta.
"The Freight Transport Centre is a facility that since 2004 solves a local problem of movement, as to construction trucks did not have a parking place," said Sunday Aranda, who also explained that the important flow experienced truck roads of the municipality has made it necessary to expand facilities.
The work, funded by the Ministry with a total of 398,057 euros, is an extension of the esplanade of maneuvers over 4,500 square meters and construction of new parking spaces for trucks.
In addition, there has been an extension of the fence of 458 meters, and lighting system, with two new lighting towers with 15 lights.
It has also installed a new circuit video surveillance system with 17 security cameras, capable of automatic tracking.
Likewise, it has strengthened fire control and signaling, both horizontally and vertically, and are willing PTO points for refrigerated vehicles.
