The Governing Council approved the declaration as a Cultural Heritage basis of the Feast of the crews in Barranda, parish of Caravaca de la Cruz.

The Feast of the Groups, held since 1979, has become one of the cultural manifestations of oral tradition most important place in Spain and has been a boost traditional folklore of the area.

The festival is held the last Sunday of January, coinciding with the Feast of the Candelaria, patron saint of Barranda, the day that brings together bands, rounds and teams from all over Spain.

This event is complemented by other activities such as concerts, lectures, educational workshops in schools, exhibitions and lectures.
