Professor of Literature at Stanford University Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht has received from the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, the IX International Essay Prize Miguel Espinosa.

Ulrich Gumbrecht, born in 1948 in Würzburg (Germany) and Ph.D. from the University of Constance in 1971, is currently a professor in the department of Comparative Literature at Stanford University, director of the Committee on Conferences and Symposia of the University and member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
The award ceremony held in the afternoon yesterday in the House of Culture Emilio Sáez, was attended by the Director General of Promotion of Culture, Francisco Jimenez, the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, the president of the Philosophy Society Murcia, Nieves Molina, and the councilman of Culture, Maria Cruz Pérez.
During the ceremony, preceded by a reception at City Hall and a visit to local museums, was presented with this recognition which honors caravaqueño essayist and novelist Miguel Espinosa, author of works such as "School of Mandarin" or "tribo liar."
