The accommodations of The Almudema, El Llano and the old train station in 250 hotel rooms increase the municipality
The Minister of Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, and the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, today opened the hostel "The Station", located in the building of the former passenger train station.
This facility is funded by the regional government with 428,798 euros through the Tourist Consortium of the Northwest Greenway.
The Minister of Culture has said that this project is "a step in the commitment to sustainable tourism, recovering an old and disused building more infrastructure gives the Greenway as a revival of pilgrimage tourism."
The mayor has expressed pride in this space, "working example of regional and local governments are doing in the present and future of Caravaca de la Cruz."
The hostel is on the ground floor, with a common space, which is intended to cafeteria and residence or public use.
On the first floor are three dormitory rooms for up to 30 people, with bunk beds and lockers, and two bathrooms with showers for men and women.
Likewise, it has restored the old building of toilets, which is incorporated a kiosk-bar, toilets and playground.
The Inn of "The Station" is a short tour of the facilities made for the enhancement of the Greenway and its promotion as a way of pilgrimage to Caravaca.
In total, planned and executed actions with a total investment of over EUR 4 million, among which are the creation of a network of municipalities relocated to shelters for the path along which or the adequacy or reforestation of installments.
With the implementation of this infrastructure, in addition to the lodge rural hamlet of La Almudema and the Hotel El Llano, completes the accommodation network Caravaca built with funding from the regional government, which has managed to increase by 250 the number of hotel rooms.
