Caravaca first joined the network of municipal employees with the event thanks to the agreement with the City
Caravaca de la Cruz will host the local phase of the XXII edition of the Mathematical Olympiad Murcia organized by the Society of Mathematical Education in the Region of Murcia (SEMRM) by the agreement reached with the city of Caravaca de la Cruz.
This is an annual event around solving math problems, aimed at boys and girls of Sixth and Second Primary Education Secondary Education.
The inscriptions, which may be made through www.semrm.com page, are open until next Monday, April 4.
The Olympiad consists of two phases: one district and one regional.
The local phase takes place in different venues: Cartagena, Jumilla and Yecla, Lorca, Mula and Caravaca (which this year includes for the first time this network of municipal employees) and Murcia.
In 2010, a total of 108 schools and 980 students in sixth grade of primary and second of ESO.
"The aim is for young people to discover or enhance a love for solving problems and meeting challenges to overcome intellectual and logical-mathematical nature, while promoting relations between teachers from different schools and educational levels," said the President of the Society of Mathematics Education, Juana Sanchez.
To date has enrolled fifty students at several of the regions of North and River Mula.
The district test phase will take place on 9 April at 10.00 hours and will involve students in the various municipalities assigned to the headquarters of Caravaca.

From City Hall will be offered to the followers of the participating students a guided tour through the center of town during the development of the test.
One of the objectives of the SEMRM is to bring the event to all localities in the region and for that reason Caravaca has been proposed as a center of the seat, being able to switch to Mula thereafter, as between Jumilla and Yecla.
Thus, it provides students from that area to participate in this type of event.
In the regional phase, which this year will be held in Murcia, participate in the top twenty boys 2 of ESO, of which only three will represent the Region of Murcia in the National Mathematical Olympiad, which each year organizes the Spanish Federation Societies of Teachers of Mathematics (FESPM) and that this time be held in Galicia.
