The City Council reduced by 35% the budget for ornamental lighting of streets and squares
Hundreds of thousands of lights illuminate the main streets and squares of Caravaca de la Cruz to celebrate the festivities in honor of the Blessed and Vera Cruz.
The City Council will proceed to its on tomorrow, Thursday 28 April at 21.00 after the reading of the Proclamation by the government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González-Tovar.
This year the Department of Tourism Festival and, given the current circumstances of economic crisis, has decided to reduce by 35% the budget for ornamental lighting of public spaces, keeping the LED-type technology in all facilities in order to reduce electricity consumption and emissions to the atmosphere of carbon monoxide.
"We opted again for an energy saving lighting, environmentally friendly and designed by the company Elecfes with motifs related to the Moors, Christians and horses came and, of course, the patron saint of the city," highlighted the area responsible for Celebration in the City of Caravaca, Gonzalo López-Auguy.
In the Gran Via, the city's main artery along which the processions, parades and festive events, has installed an assembly with the design of the Cross, as the centerpiece, and other allegorical elements to the Moors and Christians.
It has also been equipped with special lighting for parties based on low-energy materials to the streets Log, Maruja Garrido, Mayrena, Gregorio Javier, Alfonso Zamora, Plum, Mayor, Rafael Tejeo, Cuesta de la Plaza, Puentecilla, Long and The nuns.
Also, special lighting was installed at the fairgrounds in El Salvador, where children's attractions will be located.
The streetlights Juan Carlos I and San Simon moved to the street where this year's Olympic Games stands for the first time the fair outlets.
