The mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the president of the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Caravaca, Pedro Antonio Muñoz, have signed this morning an agreement to cooperate with the monitoring and control tasks are carried out under the Prevention Plan Forest fires in the region of Murcia (Infomur).
Infomur plan begins June 1 and will remain active until September 30, a time when the risk of forest fires is classified as high.
Under that agreement, Caravaca Civil Protection volunteers have four daily during the months of June, July, August and September that are supervised by the head of Forest County and shall serve for monitoring, detecting and aid in fighting fires.
For its part, the City of Caravaca paid 15,128 euros for the subsidy it receives from the Ministry of Justice and Public Safety, in order to meet the expenses to be incurred during the collaboration.
"The volunteers' tasks will mainly be related to surveillance, deterrence and early detection of fires in the forests of the municipality," the mayor reported.
The plan identifies Infomur protocols in the work of surveillance, detection and extinguishing devices and human and material resources for action to be coordinated, rapid and effective to protect people, property and the environment from the risk of forest fires.
Fire prevention and extinction are the main axes of Infomur Plan, for which the Consortium has Firefighting and Rescue Region of Murcia and the rapid response brigades forest, helicopter transport and present help, supported by Civil Defence Volunteers.
