The Youth Council of the City of Caravaca has completed the program against smoking, "Healthy Travel", which in its fifth edition has had the participation of 78 students, of whom 46 have achieved the final stage.
This initiative has been closed by holding a lottery to select 10 young people who participate in the International Youth Gemona Italian city of Fruili, which takes place next July.
The event, held recently at the Youth Center, was attended by the Councillor for Youth, Antonia M ª Álvarez, and physician coordinator of the program, Sandro Guaschi, who have stressed the positive reception of this initiative among young people and congratulated the participants for successful quitting or not starting in consumption during the eight months of the program.
The primary objective of the program "Healthy Travel" is, according to the mayor Alvarez Jorquera, "warn participants of the many losses and risks to health is the consumption of snuff and for this we rely on the involvement and active participation students from 4 th of the four secondary schools in the municipality. "
The program includes an informative part, with individual and group briefings, and a practical based on the regular medical checks.
Participants who are positive on the medical evidence, are removed from the program, so that only reach the final stage who have not used snuff.
The name of the project meets the form of a free travel award for young people who successfully reach the end of the challenge.
On this occasion, the ten young people selected by lottery to participate in European Youth Meeting Gemona are: Maria Cristina Lopez Samper, Inma Marín Ortiz, Elena Carrasco Romero, Noelia Martínez-Reina Sánchez, Manuel Pérez García, Teresa García Buendía, Paloma Martínez García , Celia García Segura, Juan Sánchez-Carrasco, Elena Martínez García Cobos.
