The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has offered a new edition of the Summer Youth Program, made up of activities and workshops for children and young people aged between 4 and 30 years.
The council in office, Antonia M ª Álvarez, explained that this is a varied and attractive program that includes entertainment, education and sport, and is designed for this time of year when students have more free time. "
One of the novelties of this edition is Experimental Archaeology Workshop, to be held at the premises of the Youth Centre from 25 July to 4 August and will target the development of prehistoric tools, fire making, developing ceramic or stone carving .
This activity is complemented by the excavation work in the Cerro de la Fuente Archivel by students at the University of Murcia and Caravaca youth volunteers under the direction of the staff of the Archaeological Museum La Soledad.
Another innovative initiative is the musical evenings for the promotion of local musical groups, which each Thursday will pay tribute to a famous band on stage at the Youth Center.
Also, Caravaca be first site of one of the courses offered by the University of Mar, held from 13 to 15 July and will be entitled "The execution of sentences in the countries of the European level. Towards a European common law" .
In addition, during the summer months and other activities will be held consolidated as the Camp Summer Municipal School, the school dance with instructors of the "Fame" and computer workshops.
Youth Summer 2011 are also included activities organized in collaboration with local youth associations, such as Camp Magic Letters, II Skate Shop or the gathering of young people from around the world in celebration of World Youth Day Youth to be held in August in Madrid.
The Youth Center will extend its hours during the summer, opening its doors Monday to Friday from 18 to 00h, so that young people can enjoy all their spaces for longer.
